all the guages aren't working

I started my truck the other day and none of the gauges work (speedometer, fuel gauge, temp gauges etc). Last year I had a similar problem and it turned out to be loose battery cables. I have checked all the cables and contacts and they are all good. I also replaced the batteries last winter so they are still in good shape. Any ideas?

In addition to battery cables & connections, have you checked fuses? Also, what year is your truck? Instrument clusters have been reported to fail.. There is an extended warranty on the 03 instrument clusters .. not sure if this applies to other model years as well .. see the following thread for more info ...

Ron,
If it is an 2003, I have had 3 clusters since my 2003 was new. Once all gauges were acting eratic, the other 2 times it was individual gauges. Good luck.
