I have a 2002 C3500HD.I suspect it needs a new PMD,it periodically stall's.I talked to the GM dealer and they say it's not covered under warranty. The truck has 126,000KM on it.I know I read somewhere there is some GM extended warranty policy. Can someone enlighten me on this.Maybe point me to a copy of the bulliten. Thanks Jim

Are you sure you have a 3500HD, and not a 3500? They are different animals. The Diesel 3500HD will have a 6.5L, not a Duramax, and the Duramax doesn't have a PMD. The 3500HD will have the "old" (88-99) body style, and be the HD chassis (~15K GVWR), with a body lift (taller grill). I wasn't aware there were any 2002 models, but I've been wrong before.

If it is a 6.6L Duramax Diesel, there are stalling issues, but with completely different causes and remedies than the 6.5L. Post your question with symptoms in the Duramax 6600 Forum (http://www.thedieselpageforums.com/tdpforum/forumdisplay.php?f=9). The 2002 Duramax has its own extended and normal warranties. Injectors are covered 7 years or 200K miles, and the engine (as with ALL GM Diesel engines), 5 years or 100K miles. You will also have an emissions warranty that covers the fuel system, but that term (usually less than the other warranties) is dependent on the delivery state or country.

If you do in fact have a 2002 3500HD with a 6.5L, you have an extended injector pump warranty, 11 years or 120K miles.
