so one of my friends got a job at a local muffler shop the other day, since i need to replace my y-pipe i thought this would be a good time to just have the whole thing done. so my ? is how big of pipe can i go with. how big can they be if i go with duals, but i think i'm leaning towards a single pipe, i think it looks mean with a massive tip sticking out the side. is 3'' duals to big and is a single 4'' to big? thanks again

too big for what... grond clearance... noise... weigth..

for engine.. i think not to use anything too big, after some size theres more harm than help... i use dual 2.5" with rather short mufflers, works well for me, like the sound also, neighbors i think not : ) . my previous suburban had dual 3" all the way W/long thru flowing mufflers, i didnt see anything advanse in that size, but sound was bad... it sounded like more powerful BB engine, but jus didnt move like that, so its rubbish.. and you need earplugs for driving on highway.

but dual 3" aint too big... just waste of pipe in n/a engine single 4" is good also...
