I'm in the process of replacing the sensors on the outside of my tranny. Code 87 has me starting here. There are 2 on the drivers side and one at the top of the x-case. I've already replaced the one on the tranny that comes with the large metal bracket. However finding the one in front of it has been a pain. I've already visited all autoparts stores and the connections are not the same.
If your looking at the connection of the sensor the (tit) that holds it in place is on the long side of the oval. All replacement parts have it on the short side. None of them come with new connectors to splice. So I go to the stealership and get nothing but attitude. Ask if they have an exploded view to look at or the main repair book. He said we don't sell them, but you could take it to service and they would help you out. On the repair book he told me to go to the library to access such info. WHAT????
Not sure if pics will load on this forum. OH yeah, 93 K3500 6.5L 4l80e. Being the member of other forums I know the rules about searching. At this point I'm all searched out.

Good Day!

Based on your "This Forum Sucks!!!" topic, I doubt you'll read this, but here goes anyway...

I find it's always worth checking out rockauto.com. They have good prices, & might have what you need.

If you want the best price on factory parts, try gmpartsdirect.com. Be very careful, however, they don't take returns on anything electrical or special order. I emailed them to get the right part number for my part, they replied two days later, & I got by far the best price (APPS for the 95s).

You can buy the factory shop manuals from helminc.com - they print the factory shop manuals for GM & lots of other OEMs.

You might also try alldatadiy.com. In my very brief experience, I've found it to be a bit easier to use than the printed shop manuals, & the subscriptions aren't too bad.

Blessings!

I've been doing some wiring with the GM manuals and they list part numbers and some drawings with them .
