View Full Version : Water pump backing plate/front cover Where to buy?

Replacing water pump and timing chain. I was advised by a lady on here that most of us owe, to check for pitting.

Well, where the water pump impeller is, there is none. There IS pitting where the w.p. gasket was. I assume due to dissimilar metals/galvanic action. Anyway, it would probably be okay to use again with gasket and sealant but, I also bent it some.

Long story just to ask where I might but the plate/cover cheaply? I can't seem to find it on rockauto.com

If you're looking for a front timing chain cover , I have one off a new engine , with the crank sensor hole , that was started and spun a rod bearing . If you need the water pump plate , I may have that as well . You can PM me if you want .
