engine code pO335A

I have a 1998 gmc 2500 w 6.5. The other day while sitting at an intersection the truck felt like it was hit from behind. The motor skipped or something, I can't realy explain. Anyway, it set off my check engine light. The mechanic said code pO335A, and that the crank position sensor was out of adjustment. Put it back in place, cleared the codes and it has been fine since.

Any ideas on what happened.

I just had the same thing happen to my suburban. how exactly did you get the CPS back "in position"?
