My truck is a 82 GMC Serria short box, 4x4 6.2L (rebuilt) and 700R4 (with temp gauge & gone thru (what ever that means)).
I live in the Montana mountains and towed my snowmobiles for the first time.
My questions:
1. What is too hot a temp for the tranny when towing? What's normal?
Yes I have a traany cooler and the tranny works well, but when towing the other day I made two trips to the same spot. 1st trip tranny got close to the yellow portion of the guage. 2nd trip hardly climbed at all. I tow in third, not 4th.
2. What temperture is "normal " for a 6.2L diesel? Mine runs at about 125+ and seems fine.
