Yes, yes convert to gas. Heres the scoop...I was offered a 94 6.5 1ton, its a work truck not in great shape. I dont really want the truck but a "running" complete engine and trans is what I'm looking for. It sounds like it has a bad rod bearing. I was going to do a complete rebuild on any engine I get anyway, so no big deal.
Also I have a lead on a good running 1994 350 TBI engine, rad, computer and wiring.
The question(s) is -
Has anyone ever converted to gas?
Will the engine wiring harness from the gas plug into the diesel firewall connection...and work?
Will the gas ECM swap out with the diesel ECM and fit/work (are the connections the same)?
Will a gas in-tank fuel pump fit a Diesel tank?
What else am I missing?
If this will work, I'll do the the engine swap for the guy and I keep the 6.5T for all the labor. He sells a running truck....we all win. GM was pretty modular on alot of there stuff, it looks like it would be simple. I dont mind working on the "outside" of this thing, but I'm not gonna start changing the wiring under the dash. I just havnt crossed this bridge yet. Thanks in advance for the help.
