I have about 5000 miles on my new 2008 2500HD D/A and have noticed that when it upshifts at around 48 MPH it is quite noticable. I don't even notice when it shifts at any other speed, but at this speed it jerks the truck just a little. Is this normal?? I love the truck so far.

I believe what you're experiencing is the torque converter lockup. Accelerator pedal position probably has some effect on how much of this TC lockup you feel - more so at light pedal, less so at more pedal.

I doubt you have anything to worry about, and I'd bet the TC lockup will soften a bit as the transmission accumulates more miles.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think anything was wrong, but just wanted to check. I hauled a 45' tri-axle goose neck trailer this weekend and I was very impressed. On the open road I didn't even know it was there. It weighs about 12,000 lb.s with 3 snowmobiles in it.
