I'm considering buying a Mac Mentor scan tool. Also known as an OTC Genesys and Matco Determinator. It has GM software avaliable for it. Does anyone know if it will set the timing on electronic 6.5L's? I'd love to be able to time my 6.5L's myself, but don't want to buy a $2000 scanner just for that. I work on all kinds of stuff and really like the OTC scanner. I appreciate anyone who may know for sure on this.

Howdy
On the reasearch that I did, the OTC tool needed an aditional service pack to change the timing. I ended up buying the Autoenginuity Laptop based Scantool. Works Great and I have had TOP shelf customer service from them. I have used this tool on several Chev trucks, my wifes Ford Windstar and a couple of Dodges. I think it would be worth a look.
