Hi all,
I'm looking to install the K47 hi capacity air box on my 94 K2500. the old box was done in. I can get pretty good prices from salvage yards but did every 6.5 after late 97 come with the K47 hi capacity air box? Thanks,
Jerry G
Not sure of your part number K47 reference. The filter element is roundish for all after 97 I believe but I think there is a BIGGER element for gasser trucks special that may be high capacity. As opposed to a flat panel filter for earlier models. I THINK the 6.5 turbo came only with one box.
My '97 box has a sticker on it 48 use filter element A1300C and raised lettering on box cover stating same filter too. Also says use A1306C for extreme dusty conditions.

I think the K47 is probably in reference to an RPO code.
As long as you get the round style box, you're good.

Thanks for the replies. I found a complete '99 air box, fender to turbo for $75 on www.car-part.com. Should have it by Fri evening. I'll let you know how the install goes when the rest of engine rebuild begins 3-4 weeks from now.
