steering wheel switches

has anyone had to replace the lights in the switches in the steering wheel? not sure as to how to take the switches out. need to replace the volume and info lights.

Yep.

Remove the air bag first.
If I remember correctly, unplug the switch connector and unroute the wires in the steering wheel then push the buttons out using a small screw driver or something. They do just push out though and you have to un-route the wiring harness behind the air bag so you can unplug the individual connectors.

As for the light replacement, they are solder in and if I remember correctly, I just went to Radio Shack. Small bulbs and you will need to find something that is close to the same brightness.

You may also find that if the bulb has been burnt out for a while while the others still illuminate, the plastic changes color so the newly replaced bulb may appear brighter than the others. I replaced all the bulbs in the switches due to the mileage on my truck.
