I own an 03 2500 HD with 178k miles on it. The truck is experiencing low oil pressure when warm and idling. It is causing the low oil alarm to go off. The pressure rises as the rpms go up. When I start the truck the oil pressure is normal
The problem is less when the out side temps are lower
More Power

Check the engine oil for possible diesel fuel contamination. The fuel injectors and fuel return lines are located beneath the valve covers in the LB7 engines, any leak will allow fuel to wind up in the engine oil.
If you check the oil, and it appears colorless or if the level is difficult to see, put a drop on a clean white paper towel. If two concentric rings appear (one oil and one fuel) you may have fuel in the oil.
Engine oil contaminated with fuel will drastically lower oil pressure.
