Back in the day, I pulled a high speed 'Dukes of Hazard' in a Scout with two of my (hungover) buddies riding in reclining chaise lounge lawn chairs in the back. Upon returning to earth, both rear occupants were saved from ejection by the rollbar (!) to their midsections - and the front left hub/spindle shattered on impact. The tire, wheel, and halfshaft exited the vehicle in a most spectacular manner, and we slid to a stop a few hundred feet later. Like I said - high speed, major hang time. Like 6 feet of air.
My buddies dad owned the truck (he was one of the lawn chair riders in the back, too hung over to drive.) It was one of those early 20-something moments, like...."Dude, we are in SERIOUS trouble...oh Dude...my dad is gonna FREAK..."
