Anybody have a contact in western PA - specifically, the Butler PA region? Local dealers give me blank stares when I ask about 6.5 problems.

Hi Bluesky. I grew up in the Karns City/Petrolia area a few miles north of Butler. I come back to visit each summer for about 6 weeks in the May/June/July timeframe. As to a good diesel mechanic, I don't know. I tried the Chevy and GMC dealers back in '99 when I had what turned out to be a glow plug controller problem. The GMC dealer's diesel "expert" quit them the week before and went to work for a repair shop in town. The Chevy dealer's expert did't know for sure if my '93 even had a glow plug controller. I'll ask my brother-in-law back there. He usually knows who is good at what around that area. If I can get something I'll let you know.

Bluesky94 Talked to my brother-in -law in Butler and he came up with three names for diesel mechanics. Brother-in-law was a maintenance supervisor for Sprint until few years ago and they took their vehicles to Bill Errera Garage, 724-283-8172. He said they were very good and reasonable. Two others recommended to my brother-in-law were: Cliff Fisher, 724-282-2914, lives on Rt 68 across from O'Donnell Beer Distributors and Jay Barber, 724-283-2511, lives on Rt 8 North, however, he goes south for the winter. Hopes this helps you out.
