I'd want a reman built using a November 2001 or newer block.

Thanks Jim
Has anyone got any experience of Diesel Direct's 6.5?
Their website makes it sound as though they've fixed a lot of the so called common issues with the original GM 6.5.

I'm worried about the noise my truck makes and am considering one of their motors as a replacement.

I hope thier blocks are better than thier spell checker............
Our Xceptional 6500 uses new blocks and crankshafts. Many builders using new blocks are reusing OE crankshafts that are extremely prone to cranks and breaks.

Every engine I've ever had was prone to cranks. Is that a bad thing???

Also.......
I believe their iron is of questionable origin. Ask them where the foundry is.

I will be replacing my 95 6.5 and will be looking also. Got to try to pick wisely for sure. I thought I had with the Diesel Depot engine in my 84, but a small amount of metal flakes continually show up in my traskco oil filter elements when I change oil.
I assume this not normal, and something is giving way. Almost 50k on it now.
I paid alot of money for that engine with all the best upgrades, girtle, block casting, geardrive, and set up for a banks turbo, but I'm affraid it was all for not.
