is there anyway to call up the oil life remaining and fuel filter life remaining on a truck without the DIC message center? I know how to reset the oil life but nothing else.

no I don't have steering wheel control.

You will need a scanner, then. Tech II or Predator will do it.

The oil and filter life reminders are just advisories, and IMO, have no real function in the real world (unless you have a real bad memory). Perform your service intervals according to the use of the truck, and reset the reminders when they come up. There's not much, if any, real logic to the reminders, they don't have a sensor in the driver's seat, and can't read your mind.

I hate all the reminders. They are forever NOT in sync with my service intervals, and I always have drivers/operators calling to tell me that they are going off.

How do I turn ALL of them off, on ALL my trucks? :eek:

They go by driving habits. It's all software driven. In case you're interested, I have added SWC to a GMT 800 pickup before. All it took was a new steering wheel, SIR coil and the proper software from GM Techline. ;)
