Is it just me?

My '06 has the factory power mirrors with heated glass and turn indicators. On 3, maybe 4 occasions, something has bounced off the mirror housing and hit me in the face or neck (Window down, of course...). I didn't think too much about it until yesterday, when a wasp or hornet hit me in the neck. Dispite having been stung may times over my life with no significant effects, this time I ended up in the emergency ward. Nothing a Benadryl IV couldn't fix...

But I digress. Am I just "lucky" or is there something about the aerodynamics of this setup that is causing things to follow this trajectory?

Wow, sorry about the bug problem.

It's not just you though. I put those mirrors on my '02 last year. I have lots of bugs splatter on the side windows to prove that they push stuff toward the glass. It's probably worse with the window down.

I've also had bugs bounce off the mirrors and hit me, one was a wasp, but it didn't sting me. Might not be as lucky next time...
