My burb set a 236 trouble code last night. It is the only code (other than a pending 0236). I have no vacuum at the wastegate actuator. I have 21 inches vaccum at at the orange tube that goes into the wastgate solenoid (from the vaccum pump). The wastegate actuator and black tube from the solenoid hold vaccum. By following the diagnosis procedure in the shop manual, it says the boost sensor needs replaced. Before buying the sensor, I wanted to bounce this off you folks. Does this sound right?

Sounds like the solenoid to me.

Sounds right to me, also. You may be able to free the solenoid up by spraying some WD-40 into it. If not, it's only about a $30 part. I've started to get in the habit of spraying WD-40 into the black tube on the wastegate as preventitive maintenance every once in a while.

A new boost sensor fixed the problem. I now have vacuum at the actuator. The downside was the boost sensor was $97.

I bought a boost sensor last week in Memphis, TN for my 1999 Suburban, and it was $39.00 plus tax, I would question that cost.

I bought mine from the dealer, that's probably why I got screwed.
