So, I took in the truck (to GM dealer) to have a new sender unit put into the tank as my fuel gauge would not read anything more than 5/8 of a tank even when tank was full. They replaced it, which involved dropping the tank out of the truck, and it seems to be working now. However, in their post-service test drive, the SES is on. They searched for codes - nothing in the computer, not one single code. Anyone have any idea what this could be? I read a couple posts about fuel cap/air leak but wouldn't that leave a code?

I took the truck in - no light on, I get the truck back - light is on. Can't help but believe it's something they did (or did not do).

Probably a fuel-rail pressure code - due to air getting into the system. Reset the code, then see if it repeats - assuming the air has worked its way out. :)

If the SES light is on there sure should be a code. Probably in the BCM or something.
