Hi y'all,

The saga of my slowpoke Winnebago continues. OK, here goes. I was told that when putting a turbo on my 6.2 I should upgrade to the 6.5 heads, due to the bigger valves, bigger combustion chamber = more power. Any thoughts? As always, I thank you all in advance.

A properly setup turbocharger on a formerly NA 6.2 will add 30-40% more power.

If you want to push harder, yes, 6.5TD heads, the 130-gpm serpentine water pump, intercooler, and more will make it easier to reach above what the NA 6.2 would be capable of with just the addition of a turbo.

is there a HO v-belt waterpump, I have a military truck and shiver to think about the crap i'd go through to convert the dual 100amp alternators over to a serp system.

Am I just too stupid to find anything on the web or does Peninsular's site totally stink? Geez, they could spend the cost of one engine on a web designer and double their sales in a month....

Sorry, venting over now. I just had a standard water pump installed yesterday. Had to let it out.

I have a turbo on my 6.2 and have read that its better to replace injectors with the 6.5 turbo injectors too...Is this true? Or does it not really matter?

you can just have your 6.2 injectors rebuilt to 6.5 specs. they pop at a higher pressure which allows better atomization and a more complete burn, so you arent wasting fuel as EGTs/smoke. if you have a higher mileage injector pump it might not play nicely with having to build more pressure to pop the injectors.
