Turbo Failure...what did I do wrong??

The turbo I just rebuilt seems to have lost the thrust bearing after only a month of use. The temps aren't bad, max of 1050 pre turbo. usual is 650 towing the tool trailer. I did have one inadvertent shut down with the EGT at ~600 but restarted within 15 seconds and let it cool down before shutting it off again. The PO had recently had the turbo rebuilt with a subsequent failure prior to my ownership. I'm going to be checking the oil feed line for restriction tomorrow...I really don't want to do this again!!

Could be the turbo is out of balance.

Part of a rebuild is a Zero Balance of the rotating assembly.

But, check for oil restriction, etc. because less oil and it'll wear out.
