P0238 Turbo Boost code

Hi - new to these forums.

My friend has a 1995 6.5 and the code P0238 is showing. Any ideas on what problem this could be? The code is DTC P0238 Turbocharger Boost Sensor Circuit High Voltage. It runs fine most of the time. sometimes it starts right away, other times it won't start, but after waiting about 30 minutes it will start right up. My friend would like to know where the turbo sensor
is. Thanks for any help.

The PCM monitors the boost pressure sensor voltage output, and will set DTC code P0238 if the voltage exceeds 4.8 volts dc and if the engine speed is less than 3506 rpm.

You really need a scan tool to help in diagnosing this problem.

Does the boost pressure decline to approximately 9 kPa with the engine idling? If not, does disconnecting the boost pressure sensor canuse the boost pressure to decline? If not, you either have a short in the wiring that keeps 5 volts on the sensor signal line or the PCM is defective.
