Weather cover ???

Do the trucks come with the weather cover for the grill/bumper from the factory or is it an accessory purchase?
Is there a better option besides the GM one?

ThanksIt is an option upon ordering if I am not mistaken. I am sure there are after-market accessories but I think GM's OEM is probably the best bet for covers. What year model are you looking for? I have two left over from 2001 and 2002 models (both the same).

These were standard equipment included in the Duramax option the first couple years before they became an option on top of the Duramax option. Most people in southern states never use them so maybe that's part of the GM theory in making them an option now along with of course making more money on options. My 2001 came with both the grill and bumper covers and I've always only used the grill cover here north of Chicago Dec. thru Feb.. I think the grill covers looks OK and does help the motor heat up better, but I can tell you that the bumper cover makes the truck look butt ugly so even below zero I've never ever put it on and it really only covers the couple slots in the front center of the bumper anyways.

Indeed they did come standard in 01 and 02. I found mine under the rear seat. I never used one for anything. I was in northern Illinois in 2001 and 2002 with full force winter. Never got the truck out in the salt or snow. Always drove the FWD Honda.

I still have one that I know of (can't locate the other one just yet, but it's here somewhere). I got a PM from someone wanting it for a 05 but I do not think it will fit, as the 01 and 02 had straight bumbers.

This one I have seen as of last week has never been used, not once. I'd as soon see someone get use out of it as for it to take up drawer storage space here.

Did a check to see if these (above) covers would fit the 07 (classic) front. No. Thus I suspect they wouldn't fit a 03 -07. I may be wrong.

I think 03 is when the fronts changed to wider and a step down front bumper.

If anyone is interested in this stuff, PM me. It's taking up room here.

I found this too..... it's the trailer wiring kit.

All left over from previous trucks. Never used.
