Looking great!
I like that yellow color, it's kind of addicting, it'll look real good on the stand.
Be careful with the engine stand you have that engine on, it might get a bit tipsy with the engine dressed. A good 2k stand is almost necessary for these things.
So, 18:1 pistons with .010 decked block and STD thickness gaskets?
You're going to be closer to 19:1 than you think ;)
Have fun.

Hmmmmm a 400 inch Cat?? What a Novel Idea :D
Looking good Rich :):):):):)
Let me know if you need any help and I can run over of an eavening.
Robyn
Thanks for the compliments!
The yellow paint is addicting, -ain't it??, -Kinda like watching a moth getting drawn into a bug zapper. :D
John, -good call, -yes, it will actually be closer to 19:1, -which is ok by me. I'm not planning on running 30 psi like some of the other 18:1 guys are. The short block will get transplanted over to my heavy stand once the heads are ready to go on. I'm letting my dad borrow my rat-stand, -this'll be a good reason to get it back!
Robyn, -you're closer to getting a phone call than you know! I'm looking forward to putting this thing together, -oughtta be a good time.
Rich.

Looks good! Hope you finally have a good ending to your project. Now that you have the Cat paint sceme are you going to bling out the alluminum parts like John did?

Thanks DD, -I didn't see what John did to his aluminum pieces. All my aluminum is cleaned up in the blast cabinet with some fresh beads at low psi, -then clear coated with high heat clear to keep the oxides off for a while.
A polished intake and front cover would look good against the yellow paint, -no doubt.
Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of time or patience left on this project. ;)
I hope it works out too, -I can't wait to have my truck back.
Thanks,
Rich.
