Mass air flow problems

Hey i need a little advice. On my 1998 1500 6.5 TD the Mass air flow code keeps comming up. I just replaced the sensor because the old one had a connector that was missing. i thought that was the reason for the code to appear because of the fact that is wasnt connected properly. After instaling the new sensor i cleared the code and drove for a while and it was fine. a couple of starts later the light was back on. Any thoughts?
