1996 vssb location

I can't find my vssb on my 1996 2500 2WD. What does it look like and where is it located? Somebody help!

Not sure about your 96, but on my 94 it is inside the glove box. Remove the inner box and it should be on the lower left of the opening. White box about the size of a pack of playing cards. Has two pugins on it. Mine only uses one because I have 5 speed hand shaker.

If you go to the dealer for one, they don't know what a vssb is. They refer to it as Drack unit.

They told me they have to order from Delco. They will want tire size, tire diamiter, gear ratio, and vin #.

Mine has two plastic ribbed pins that hold it in place. When you are looking in the glove box opening it, it is away from you on the lower front side of the bottom dash support. My manual said it could also be on top of the PCM attached with velcro.

Thanks, but I've looked there and can't find it. I think they (GM) moved them in 1996 and I haven't met anyone who can tell me where. Anybody else out there with a '96 who knows where the VSSB is?

The 1996 C/K truck manual calls out the box (which is white, about 3" square, 1/2" thick) as mounted to the underside of the PCM. At least that is what the picture shows.....
