I have installed a 6.5 TD from a 1993 K2500 into a 1993 FJ80 Land Cruiser and need help figuring out how to get the PCS transmission controller to properly shift the 4L80E. I tried connecting the engine speed sensor to the RPM input on the PCS unit but it does not get an RPM reading at all. Does anyone know which input the factory engine speed sensor (two wires) should be hooked up to on this controller? Is this sensor providing a digital or analog reading? Do I need to make any setting changes on the controller?

I have the TPS hooked up and according to the PCS software it appears the TPS is functioning properly.

Thanks,
Matt

I'm guessing there is a vehcle speed sensor buffer (VSSB) needed in the circuit and calibrated to your gears, tire diameter, and such, but not sure if PCS even needs the vssb.

The vendor "PCS" should be able to help w/issues such as yours

Are you using the GM factory engine speed sensor (mounted atop the oil pump drive assy)?

I am using the unit that came with the 6.5 from the 1993 K2500. It appears to be a factory unit and everything functioned properly while installed in the K2500 before I pulled the engine and trans.

And yes it is mounted atop the oil pump drive.
