I could sure use some help here. The engine in my 1989 seems to run fine at idle but slightly increase the engine speed and the engine runs rough. It seems to vibrate or shake. Beyond a fast idle it is not as noticable. I've taken off the belt and checked the various pulleys. I replaced the thermal fan clutch. It make no difference if I hold the clutch pedal down. The problem started a couple weeks ago and is getting worse. The problem is now noticable when I shift gears. The engine has 150,00 miles and the injectors have naver been changed. Could the injectors be causing this problem? please share your thoughts. Thanks.

I'd suggest checking the fuel system for air leaks.

Usually a bad air leak in the fuel system will cause the engine to run very rough under acceleration or increased RPM.

Replacing the fuel filter(s) can also be helpfull in checking the sytem for leaks at or around the fuel filters.
