Need some thoughts here...I've replaced the surpentine on my '02 7 times in the last few years because of the squealing. I've tried every imaginable brand but after a couple of months they all start to squeal. I've tried wax (thinking they maybe dried out), I've tried belt dressing. None of these things work. Anyone else experienced this?

Yup, I've not replaced them as many times but they do squeal. One service manager said all you had to do was take a wire brush and take the glaze off while the engine is running. Been there, done that, didn't work either.

If you've replaced the belt 7 times with different belt brands/designs, the belt is most decidedly eliminated as the problem.

Other possibilities:
Weak tensioner
Contamination source (coolant, oil, etc.)
Not routed properly
Worn out idler (will glaze the belt)
Dragging/overloaded accessory

If they start out OK, then start to squeak after a while, something is causing this. If your tensioner is good, check it for excess tensioning travel. If you have significant travel remaining (with the belt installed), get a smaller belt. The travel/belt length is about 2:1. For every 2 cm of belt length, the tensioner will require about 1 cm of travel. Once belts begin to slip, it will only get worse as they glaze. You could also try buffing the pullies with a wire wheel and die grinder (only the metal pullies). If a pulley is glazed, it will slip, cause the belt to overheat and glaze other pullies.

OR you could also make sure that the P/S pulley is installed properly (nose of pump shaft flush with hub of pulley. I also like to take a dental pick to all the grooved pulleys and make sure that there is no debris in them. and if all else fails............... here is a new bulletin.......................... :D ................................. :D

Run a bar of soap on the belts while running!

Using a bar of soap or any belt dressing on the serpentine belt is a big no no! It just makes a big mess and more often than not makes the noise worse.

Buy a Gatorback belt, by Goodyear... Last 3 -4 times longer..
Also used to use on my Cummins, but I've been converted since then, it almost eliminated the loud chirp when it shut down.
my .02 cents.
