Cell antenna

Has anyone ever dug out the factory cell ant. cable and used it on their hand held cell? I don't want to pay more for another phone contract, just want to use antenna on my truck.

It's the OnStar (http://www.onstar.com/us_english/jsp/explore/onstar_basics/technology.jsp) Antenna .. it's a small black cellular antenna about 3 inches high and is usually located on the roof just above the drivers side windshield ... the assembly actually contains two antennas .. a Cellular antenna and a GPS antenna ...
