My '88 6.2 'Burb is getting tired, and I'm thinking of replacing it with a pickup. What would be a good 6.5 pickup to look for? Thanks for all your opinions.

I would say the best 6.5 pick up to purchase would be a one owner low miles if you can find one well maintained. Not know how you planing on using the truck makes it hard to say buy this truck for that application.
Can you give us some ideas daily driver, pull car trailer every day or fishing boat once a month.
sorry could help more

Duh. What I should have mentioned is: daily driver, hauling backyard project material, roadtrips (ext cab at least) and hopefully, someday, hauling a club-level sedan race car to local weekend events. Oh, and my dog has to like it. Thanks. ;-)
I've pulled a trailer with my 1500 and a 'burb for many years. It's a dual axle car trailer and the cars i usually pull are 50's and 60's vintage. I finally got tired of the instability and low load ratings of the 1500 & 2500 series and got a 3500 dually. Night and day difference pulling the trailer, much more stable and i actually don't sweat like a hog while i'm pulling from being nervous. For every day driving & light duty stuff i still use my 1500, but for pulling the car trailier i'll never go back to anything but a dually.

Best year for reliability, at least in my opinion, is 1993. There isn't much of a difference in power between 1993 and later years, but '93 is MFI whereas after that you have way the heck more electronics to deal with and more to go wrong.
