I dont really care for the banks air box, and would like to put a cone filter on it. Does anyone have experience with the new oil-less air filters, just wondering on if they are worth it?
Also what brand filter would you reccomend, I WILL NOT use a K&N filter. I've heard too many horror stories with there filters.

Measure the space and pipe size you have and contact Greg Landuyt (TDP supporter lubricationspecialist.com ) He sells Amsoil oilless/cleanable cone filters, and can match a filter to your needs. I did that for my '01 and I'm very pleased with it. I agree with you on the K&N. They're a crap shoot at best in my experience.

Thanks for the speedy reply, will do. I just wish i had the turbo in the truck already to measure it up. Will have to wait until next week.

It's best to wait until you have everything installed. You never know what will get in the way until it's in place. You will need about 2" to engage the end of the pipe with the filter, so be sure to allow for that. The space needed will be from the end of the pipe, not where the filter will be after installation. The rubber connector will be pretty stout, so don't count on it to move much. When you get to that point, it will only take a couple days to get the filter from Greg.
Don't forget to add a provision for the CDR if you get rid of the banks air-box.

Thanks for that suggestion, just what I was thinking one should do.
A couple of Silicone 90 degree bends and some 3" exhaust pipe should do the trick. One piece of exhaust pipe abou4 4" long with a 1" bung welded to it (say 1" pipe) for CDR suction would work after the filter.
Been thinking of making some air intake changes to my Banks '86 6.2L pickup, after some turbocharger turbine changes though.
