I was taking anything not aluminum off my banks air filter housing I don't use anymore. so I can use it in an aluminum pore at the college foundry and noticed something interesting. There is a cut on the inlet side of the filter that probably happened when they were chasing the aluminum. At first I got a little worried but realized quickly that this cut is before the air filter and doesn't matter at all other than it is there. Thought it was interesting an would pass it on. Here are some pictures. The twine was used to clean the oil off to see when the cut happened.

Like I said it doesn't really matter just thought it was odd to see the cut there. I'm a little particular how my castings come out be it aluminum or bronze (or wax for that matter), so seeing something like this in my work would bother me, but because I don't use it and the cut isn't hurting anything, I just found it interesting.:)
