So, after the first or second trip to the dealer for Fluids and Filters, I would really like to begin doing my own maintenance. I have '06 LBZ and I am curious if I need some kind of computer/programmer to reset the oil life and Fuel Filter life displays in the DIC? Does the computer sense this automaticaly or is it manually reset after the change by the dealer?

I used to drive a BMW 330 and I had to get a tool to reset the computer after "self service".

Anyone?

The "service reminders" do not require a scanner. If you intend to do your own mantenance, a scanner would be a valuable tool, though.

The procedure for clearing the reminders (they are not codes....you'll know when you get a real one) is described in your owner's manual.
