'05 Surpentine Belt Replacement

Can I get instructions on how to replace the surpentine on my '05 duramax. I know you take the shroud off. I looks like a pain to put the new one on. Any instructions would be appreciated. Thanks

You shouldn't have to remove the shroud. The belt does't go around the fan, like with older V-belts. The backside of the belt drives the fan, so it just goes around the fan pully by routing it. Replacement is simple. Use a serpentine belt tensioner tool (Autozone, etc.) or long 1/2" breaker bar to relieve the tensioner. Remove the belt and replace it. There should be a diagram on the shroud, if you get lost. Keep the tensioner relieved until the belt is on all the pullies and the belt engages all the grooves.
