View Full Version : Engine stalls first thing in morning.
I have 2004 GMC Duramax and every morning after I start it it stalls after a few seconds. Does anyone know if there is any warranty/recall on any parts that may be causing this problem? Additionally, why is this ocurring? Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Do you have to "re-prime" the fuel system in order to get the truck to run?
If so, did you recently have the fuel filter changed?

I have seen alot of problems with the filter head itself leaking.
Have seen this symptom on several diesels over the years. Most often after a fuel filter change. Sometimes a line/connector/filter/filter head, leaking air somewhere. small amount of air leaks in on extended shutdowns, fuel back to the tank. Start AM and just enough air stalls engine but not too much air to not allow engine to restart and run OK rest of day. bob...............
