the past 2 months about 4 or 5 times i have had to prime my truck to get it to start. it will start and then idle for about 2-3 seconds and then quit. it will crank over but only start if i prime the fuel. one time it didn't even start from the begining.this only occurred when my truck would sit for a day or two . any suggestions. when she starts the crank time is normal.

Did it start after changing a fuel filter? Sounds to me like you have and o-ring leaking.

I have remedied your similar complaint by replacing the fuel filter head assembly. The filter head loses prime. No explanation, it just does.

i changed my fuel filter. it helped a little. but it has still shut off a couple of times after siting a while. and if it has sat over night and starts, it idles like it is about to stall for about 5 seconds.

Try loosening the fuel filler cap when you shut it off for any length of time. If the problem disappears, replace the cap. If not, the test was free.
