I've had the oil pan off an LB7. It's glued on with RTV/Silicone - no gasket. Not many (if any) gaskets are used on the aluminum crankcase, (part between the pan and the cylinder block). There might be a defect in the aluminum (crack, burr, hole, etc.) that is being missed. These engines are pretty oil tight.
Also, an oil leak source can sometimes be hard to positively identify. A leak farther up on the engine could appear to be originating at a lower portion of the engine.
