How about a "Cummins Conversion into GM" string?
I would love for a kit to be offered, motor mounts mostly

I'm doing several 4BTA's into gm trucks right now. I 'm putting a 120hp 4B in an 85 6.2 pickup. I'm also building a 325hp 4BTA for my 90 K3500.

Pictures are worth a thousand words.
Good luck,

It would be nice to just have a diesel conversion category where people could post questions and post their current diesel conversion projects. :D

I'd say a conversion forum would be a good idea!

I guess my motor maybe living on borrowed time seeing how even 1999 model year blocks are cracking in various areas...
Conversion talk? Maybe this could be a good thing!

I agree too.I could live with everything else anyone could say bad about this motor but if it cracks on me anytime soon,I'm done.Thats inexcusable for any expensive diesel motor to crack at any point in its life below 300,000 miles let alone some at 60,000 mi.

Need some help here. Got me a 4 cy Cummins and I am trying to put it in place of the 6.5 in a 93 Chevy 3/4 ton 4X4 with the automatic trans. I have the motor mounts and the conversion to mate up the motor to the trans. When I bought the motor I was told that the converter would bolt up. It will not happen with what I have. It will take a different flywheel or a different converter. I know it is being done and hope someone can give me some guidance. Thanks in advance for any help someone might give.

Harvey Not sure about this, but there maybe different convertor/flexplate bolt patterns between diesel and gas motors. Number of input shaft teeth maybe an issue too.

He tried to get me to convert but I am very happy with my two 6.5's. If I wanted a cummins I would of purchased a Dodge.

Your 99 didn't come from the factory with the enhanced block, did it? If so, what is the build date? Was it built in Mexico?

Mine has a build date of 8-99. How can I tell if I have the enhanced block too? Mine also has the screw on style fan clutch on the water pump which is indicative of a later build date.
KEN AT AUTOWORLD.COM HAS DONE HUNDREDS OF CUMMINS CONVERSIONS INTO MOST ANYTHING. CALL HIM FOR HELP. HE IS A GREAT GUY FOR INFO AND WILL DO IT IF NEEDED FOR YOU. IM GOING TO SCHEDULE THIS FALL FOR MY 97. BUT I WANTED THE 6BTA CUMMINS NOT THE 4.LET US KNOW HOW IT GOES

One of the members posted this link to identify enhanced blocks; http://home.cinci.rr.com/mainous/EnhancedBlkID.htm
