Made a find at the local junkyard today. Found a 6.2 in there. Pulled the heads, manifold, injection lines, and injection pump. From what we could see the truck was an 83/84. The injection pump that I pulled, is it the same as what would be my truck? DB2-4911? Paid as follows
Pump-$18
Lines-$18
Manifold-$20

I know that there might be a problem with the pump. But when we turned the crank so that we could access the bolts to get the pump off, the engine turned easily and we had fuel being shot from the lines. Just curious as it would be nice to have another IP on the shelve just in case. (Still have to get it checked)

Good deal
Fiding good parts cheap is always a good thing.
Good luck

Since this is a 6.5 pump I'll leave the post here.

Yep 4911 is a 6.5TD pump, you gotta steal.

But, from testing (whistling loudly here) stock 6.2 with 4911 pump on it equals a blown head gasket...

Okay, I shoved my foot in my mouth and displayed my youthful ignorance. Cleaned the pump up today before I send it in for testing. Found numbers
DB 2829. Because the pump looked like a replica of mine, and because I've heard that a lot of parts are interchangeable in the 6.2 to 1993 6.5, I assumed it was a DB2 4911. Nuts

So will you be needing that pump?
I could send you your cost and a bit if you wanted to through it on the bus to edmonton.

Define a bit and you may have a deal. My brother in law arrives from Stony Plain tommorrow and could probably take it back and I could get it shipped or delivered from there. Save some on the freight. Let me know.
