4th gear grinding

I have been experiencing a slight grinding when shifting to 4th gear. The mechanic finally heard it going to replace every thing to do with 4th gear. He said GM had no other cases reported of this. has ony one else heard of this?

Sounds like you may be having issues with the dual mass flywheel. This could also be related to your other "lugging" thread. The flywheel is covered by the engine warranty.

On ocasion I have trouble going into 4th. 2nd and 3rd have better syncros than 4th. If I slow down it helps. If the clutch/flywheel isn't releasing it can also cause a hang up. If you have the $$ it would be best to go with a SMF from southbend. Makes them a whole different machine to drive.
