Picked up my Sub from the exhaust shop this afternoon. "0" miles on engine before I left. Now has about 10. Sounds real good - 3" pipe with a flowmaster. Turbo whistles just right. :D
I rebuilt the bottom end - align bored 0.75mm overbore - new mahle pistons .010 thicker head gaskets gear drive, yada, yada, yada. Started early monday morning at almost the first turn of the key (without glow's plugged in) following priming and a little wd 40 help into the air filter elbow.
In the jostling around, I cracked one of the 23 year old heater core spouts, so I have a water leak. Will replace it tonight. Everything else - so far - so good.
Oh, does anyone know if the aluminum oil cooler lines that go across the radiator are still available - one of mine has a (now temporarily repaired) pinhole.
