hi guys this is my first time posting i have a 86 burban 6.2 and i want to put the glow plugs on a manual switch does anybody have the wiring diagram for the glow plug controller. i put a push button in the cab and connected it to the small black wire coming off of the controller and hooked the button to ground. the glowplugs come on when i push the button but the light will only stay on for 8 seconds and then after that it will only stay on for 2 seconds. but if the truck is warm it will stay on for as long as i keep the button pushed. could some one email me the fix for this or tell me what i hooked up wrong my email is colorsink@conxxus.com

If you want to use the original glow relay, just disassemble the glow controller, dump the circuit board, and then connect one of the relay leads to ground and the other to a 12-volt switched source. The electronic guts of the controller can go.

However, I recommend maintaining the factory glow controller. It's the best one GM used on the 6.2/6.5 MFI engines, it's very reliable.
