Code 1409 w/No Symptoms

All,
Came home yesterday from San Angelo (75 mile no stop ride) and saw CE light half way home. Pullled code and got the P 1409, pulled this from the web:

Error Code P 1409 EGR Vacuum Regulator circuit malfunction

This is my 97 Tahoe, it gave no problems. I erased the code, any ideas?

Check your vacuum pump for 25"hg at idle and 2000rpm

Check the vacuum hose harness for cracked\crumbled plastic.

Clean the gas cap seal and either oil or lube the cap and put it back on tight.
