I've just changed out my IP and set TDCO to -1.9 the Heath program I run calls for -1.94, the engine rattles and runs slightly hotter around town. I'm wondering if this rattling will damage anything, or?
Truck runs fine across it's rpm band.

Without witnessing getting the timing as close to -1.94 as possible I'd say that the symptoms you're describing are completly normal.
Advancing the timing will make the engine have more rattle (rasp).
The engine will also generate more heat as a result.
