Did Something Wrong??????

Ok, tell me what I did wrong. I took a 5ohm 2watt and install it on the black wire (pin c) coming from the glow plug relay three wire connector. The three wires are black yellow and orange. After installing it my engine would not start.
I have a 98 Suburban "F" 6.5TD

Perhaps we weren't clear about extending the glow cycles, as it related to model years....

Adding a resistor in the Pin C wire lead ONLY works for the 1985 through 1993 model year glow controller.

The 1994 and newer glow cycles are controlled by the PCM (computer). The 1994 and newer models do not have a "glow controller". The 94+ computer controls the "glow relay" to power the glow plugs.

There are other discussions here that discuss adding glow time in the 94+ model year systems. The two different schemes I've read about both require adding a manual control to the computer controlled glow system.
