I'm going to start a restoration on my wrecked '92 DB2 equipped K2500 in the near future. While I have the engine out for glow plugs, injectors, and cooling mods, should I make any modification to address the Ultra Low sulfur fuel issue?
Thanks,
Mick

Short of improving your fuel quality with additives, there's really nothing you can do. You can replace your IP with a military pump, or have your pump built to the military spec, but they are costly. The military pumps are built to withstand fuels with a much lower lubricity, like straight kerosene and JP fuels. You'll be money ahead keeping your fuel up to quality, and take a chance you won't have problems. It costs about the same to build up a dead pump as a live one.

The ULSD isn't any more chemically abusive on the system than previous fuels. It is just lacking lubricity in comparison.
