I have a Military K5 aka M1009 it has a coolant heater wich looks like a small red can. It has stopped working and I would like to replace it. Anybody know where I can get another or who makes them ?

Thanks

It's a sort of coolant heater, I've seen them listed from time to time on ebay.

They're a inline heater.

I haven't seen any CUCV's that came equipped with the block heater.

But, you could easily (after taking a small bath in coolant) knock out a freeze plug on the driver's side of the engine, center freeze plug and install the real deal.

Found it Napa has something very close.

The item mention looks like it connects to the heater core lines.

The kind I've seen are in the radiator hose (lower).

Hmm..

I'm curious to see how well either one of them works.

The block heater elements do a decent job of making the engine truely warm. I can plug one one for just 2 hours and grab the coolant thermostat crossover and it's actually warm!
