View Full Version : L56 to L65 ECM Transplant
Iam going from a L56 to a L65 ECM what do I have to disconnect when I put the L65 ECM in. I have read just the MF sensor is there any more.

You don't need to disconnect anything, in fact it would be better to leave sensors connected but mechanically bypassed, The harness & device grounds will be carried though as per normal wiring routing. Leaving open ended/unplugged could set up a path for "noise" to make it's way to the PCM, the L65 PCM won't care if they are hooked up as it does not look at those sensors anyway.
I got my Truck switched for the L56 to L65 ECM done and every thing works good and no codes. The only thing that I unplugged was the MAF sensor and at the same time I put the high idle switch in (1070rpm) very nice to have. Thanks for all the help.
